'Under The Westway' And 'The Puritan' - Blur

 9/10
Rated: Like A Virgin

Double of joy.The Band have two new massive tracks todelight  their fans and not fans. Both songs are incredible and stay true to bands style, nothing has change and they just improved to give the best. Both songs premier online on a live broadcast "via twitter" live streaming on band's official website.

'Under The Westway' is a melancholic tune, much in Damon Albarn style.A beautiful song that has a "lyrical link" with band's second album song 'For Tomorrow".The Epic music in the song is like a marching band with bells introducing it that easy hook up and has the same enormous potential as 'The Universal' & 'Tender'.An incredible comeback song for fans and a demonstration of quality for new ones and people who doesn't believe that there's no new good  music.

The second song the band introduced is 'The Puritan' which is more uplifting track with electronic beats. The song sounds like a proper Blur's b-side and quickly takes you back to the 1990's but more in the Pulp style. At first the song could not perceive as a amazing song but after a second listen it grows on you. A sing-along sort of anthem with crazy catchy synths but not cheesy and even it feels 'old' is very modern and poppy. Perhaps not their best but still incredible compared to charts music and is on the same electric genre. This song is more in Graham Coxon style and is fun and so entertaining.A great song to sing it live.

This pair of  songs is THE must have of the year (so far). A classic tune accompanied with a rejoice-able track both showing the versatility of the band and their very own signature. Songs gives a fresh air to the ears is like hearing something very familiar with beautiful memories but at the same time is very shiny and new. Simply a puff of great well done work and harmony created from a band that haven't lost their aim.

[Single] No Hope-The Vaccines

SINGLE
 7/10

The Vaccines have grown up and the sound of this new track is nothing new for the ones who have listen the British Pop and Rock scene in the last 60 years, or don't go to far they sound exactly like The Libertines, but for/from the band is very new is so different from first album. The first 6 seconds of the song remind me of Blur's Popscene, so I thought this must be brilliant, but the similarities with Babyshambles and The Libertines are too flashy, why would they copy two bands we all love and made a listen alike?, they already got exposure. The track is so produced, which is acceptable, but the rawness of their debut album is missing here. The song would be better if it has more The Vaccines and seconds, A band should progress but never lose they're distinctive signature. Even Justin Young's voice is hardly trying to be different.Anyway the single is good but I don't hear The Vaccines here or whatever made me fall in love with them, Hope the album, expected to be out in September, had a slightly different way.

[Single ]Lost My Way- Plan B

SINGLE
 8/10

The second single of the upcoming film and soundtrack 'iLL Manors'. This track follows the acclaimed 'ill manors' single, which personally, I didn't too much. This new song is fast and full of energy, is a great mix of Ben rapping with a cameo of Alvin and The Chipmunks or something but without sounding annoying. The 'London Gang Culture' theme seems to be working for good here.As long as the forthcoming soundtrack  stays like this and get rid of clichés, it will be nice. Think Is the first track of Plan B I wish it were longer. Definitely a Tune! a switch for what hip hop/ rap / pop music is now . The Single is out on July 2 but Wikipedia says its on June 30 ....

If that's not working here it is!!!

[single] TimeBomb- Kylie Minogue

 SINGLE
7/10

To be honest there's no much I can say about it. The track is average good for pop, I was expecting something more due to is the single that celebrates 25 years of her career in music. The track keeps her style a bit modernized to the Pop/Dance music industry. Kind of enjoyable, fun, any different from what's on vogue not providing something new but not loosing anything so is fine. The Video reminds me of 'Ray of Light' and 'Celebration' both by Madonna, but not complaining at all.

[Single] Venus in Chains - The Virgins

Single
8.5/10

After a 4 year hiatus The Virgins are back with the first official track from upcoming 7" single entitled "Venus in Chains" (out on May 26th). The Song is inspired by godlike feminist visual artists, therefore the name.It sounds fantastic and is so enjoyable reminds me a bit of not mainstream rock from late 90's [no names come to head now]. Anyway the song feel like something new for nowadays music, very cool and is a song you wish and it could be longer cause it goes growing and growing but then is over. The band still have the gist even they are not the same members but apparently Donald Cumming knows how to deal with it and give the right direction to the band. The track is lovable and addict-able definitely a teaser to what is coming, an album later this year. Only wishing 'Island Girl', a track released earlier this year, comes with the single because that track is absolutely brilliant as well. So glad that The Virgins finally are back and with fantastic music, now looking forward to a full album.

[Single] Only the Horses- Scissor Sisters

 single
 7/10

Gladly this song sound more like Calvin Harris than Scissor Sisters.'Shady Love' previous single, without a future, was dreadful. This song is enjoyable and repetitive from both sides Scissor Sisters repeat the chorus so many times and Calvin Harris repeat his hit formula, But it actually works the song is very pop and dance, catchy and also keeps the SS's style. Probably it will be in charts for a long while if it not, what a shame this is much better than most of the music there. The track sounds fresh and don't is a hard effort to make a song that gets stuck in your head for annoying reasons (Chart's Pop).A good song but I insist is more like from Calvin recent 'solo' singles.

[Single] Kiss Kiss Bang Bang - The Subways

single
 8/10

Fun! that's all what this song is, jolly, fast, enjoyable. This new Subways' single is catchy, probably silly but is so good, a bit 2000's  but is very them and fresh. The song is so quickly that you wish it could last a few minutes more but that will take off all the playful and adorable part of the song, that's what made this song so brilliant, they knew how to edit.Since the first time I heard it I felt happy or jump-y, is very accelerating, it get you very anxious .So if you haven't  listen have a go and then you will want to hear the whole album that doesn't go to far from this rejoice-able style.

[single ] Guardian-Alanis Morissette

single
 7/10
After 4 years away from music she could have done better. The beginning of this song is wonderful and powerful but then it slowdown and plain. Is not bad at all but kind of boring a minute less would done a difference. The cheese lyrics are good the rhythm is good, is what Alanis always do so is not bad that she hadn't change but is a bit disappointing  that she haven't grown.
The music and her voice are beautiful it reminds you how good she is, and is very 90's or sort of timeless. The Song is also 'uplifting' , apparently She is speaking to her child but it can apply for friends, couples etc.,very corny, could be the song for a love/friendship/parenthood film. The main reason I don't love it is because is fine, average and definitely a grower but would be nicer if it were the last single of the album and not the lead one. Will wait to hear the album in August to know if Alanis comes back with new tricks or she will have just a new album with nothing new.

[Single ]Days Go By- The Offspring

SINGLE
7/10

The Offspring comeback is this single and it is tasteless, plain, not good but not bad. It is really tiresome but very Offspring trying to sound like The Smiths ,maybe, I don't know.It is enjoyable and 'vintage' but probably not to buy it and it neither makes feel interest in the upcoming album. 'Days Go By' is a track you won't trip the station but it will be just one more song in a bunch. Fans probably will like but not adore.Only hoping the band do not ruin the 'legacy' with a dull album cause the last one was very close to. it makes me move my foot  with the rhythm at least.

Days Go By

[single] Payphone- Maroon 5

SINGLE
4/10

What ever happened with the 'rocky' band they were? This song is the sequel of  'Stereo Hearts' by Gym Class Heroes featuring Adam Levine with a bit of Africa like 'Bang Bang' -K'naan feat. Adam (again!). From the beginning to the end is Adam making his annoying voice, that seems to work for the ladies. This band is just delivering music for the masses, they're don't giving a shit , only making songs for chicks to use them as ringtones and this song is the proof . The song only concentrates in Adam Levine and it's disappointing because he don't even make an effort, aside of trying to hard to make that voice that I don't hear it in the first album. the rappy part provided by Wiz Khalifa is just to make it 'cool' or 'cooler', but nah it still a mess, like using 'fuck' and 'shit' as many times as possible in a song. The music in the song is low good, not surprising and repetitive once again to make Adam be noticed. "One more stupid love song".

You Don't deserve to be hurt with this thing so I'm not putting the song here.

[single] Burn it Down -Linkin Park

SINGLE
6/10

"The cycle repeated" says the lyrics so they did. This sounds like a track that meant to be in their 'Hybrid Theory' or 'Meteora' they take us back to that sounds era but doesn't feel as good as back in the day. The song have an average good beginning but the moment Chester starts singing I felt annoyed, seem like they focused too much in the sound and they forgot the voices, cause Joe Hahn didn't make it better. The song is apparently compared with Numb(feat. Jay-Z), I quite don't understand why, doesn't feel like that. It sounds like Linkin Park , has what make them unique, a retrospective to 2000-2005 but it is not explosive,is bland. But have to admit that if the album is going to be like this it could be interesting, just hoping the voices get better and have at least a wow fact, but  we will have to wait till June to see

[Single] ' Parasite ' - Hadouken!

single
7/10

New single of Hadouken! , it is for free which we apreciate.

The begining of this song is so good, it is very interesting but then it gets to what Hadouken! usually do, but is not boring at all, has a little twist like a new kind of creepy boy band in drugs (hallucinogens) .The bad thing is too short, ends so quickly, it start growing on you but someone cut it suddenly.

If you like Hadouken! You will love it, if you don't like them or haven't hear about them 'Parasite' is a good track to get involved. It is the band but without going so hard ('a bit more comercial') Example-ish. I'm waiting for the new album hope it sounds like this.

[single] These Are The Days- RKC

single
9/10

The third single taken from RKC's British Plastic (my favourite album from last year). This is one of the most representatives songs in the album and from Mr. Adam Ficek you hear the 'passion' in it and the video just made it better. If this song had a promotion budget it will be a hit, i'm sure.A song to play anywhere & any moment, a underrated classic [so far, hope it changes]. I will have to stop here because I fucking love it and I will just write and write about how good it is, the music the voice the lyrics all well stitched in an amazing song if there are more musicians/music Like Adam's please let me know i want to support.

[single] Saturday-The Enemy

single
7/10

'Saturday' is the new single from 'Street in the Sky' the forthcoming album from The Enemy. I can't wait to the new album which I can imagine it will be utter madness, but I have to say that this song is not as good a 'Gimme the Sign' is. It made me brake suddenly and Listen/watch The video over and over again, that doesn't means it is not great, sure it is a grower, maybe it'll work when i listen the whole album. On the Bright Side we finally have a proper saturday anthem all in the song works fine to make a track you will love,is fucking class, a well done The Enemy classic and is very catchy. and some slags are talking hypster bollocks on youtube, fuck them. "Live the dreams you had and be who you wanna be". The lyrics are joyful maybe we can play it before a night out (before Saturday Night by Whigfield) hahahaha {Tom Clarke won't like that} .

[single] Go Right Ahead- The Hives

 single
 8/10

The Hives are back and the future seems bright. This is just a taster  where we thankfully can hear they still the same and that the album will come with 12 new songs to enjoy the (hopefully) fabulous rock'n'roll they made. And they produced the album aswell so it will be a little more personal which got me intrigued.

The song sounds fantastic from the begining to the end gives you  bit of a live essense. and the lyrics "our god is a sinner, our king is a god" are kind of flirtatiousness The Hives usually use. So is the same band that haven't grown so far, which for them it works.
